The Same Jacket, Different Accessories

The past few weeks have been hectic…

It seems that there’s a million things to do, and time is running out. There’s work, of course: this time of the year is always busy. And the moving day is approaching, too. Just two more weeks, and I still have so much packing to do…

Actually, I started packing weeks ago. And I’m really glad I did, even though it means that for the past few weeks we’ve been living in the middle of cardboard boxes and chaos. And packing has made me hate clutter even more, if that’s possible. In fact, at some point I just wanted to get rid of everything: books, CDs, clothes, more books…

I know, I know: I’ll be glad when it’s all over, and I can rearrange everything in the new flat. Then I’ll be happy see my clothes neatly tucked away in the closets, and the books in the bookcase. But right now all I see is just stuff. Way too much stuff, everywhere.

But let’s talk about the outfit. It looks  very similar to the one in my previous post, doesn’t, it? But that’s what I’m wearing these days: endless variations of the same old, same old.

I never thought I’d say this, but I think I’m running out of clothes. I’m beginning to feel that I’m wearing the exact same outfit, everyday. It’s like the sartorial Groundhog Day.

Well, given that I’m in the middle of packing, well, everything I own, that is probably to be expected. Putting together stylish outfits isn’t a priority these days. Finding something comfortable and clean is good enough.

I like this mix even better. After I saw your last post I remembered I have a blue down jacket in my wardrobe (shameful, I know), I’ve been wearing it again. Blue is a flattering colour.

Thanks, Flora. Yes, blue is a good colour: very flattering on most people, and goes with anything.

Groundhog Day looks a bit different here in the tropics. Bermuda shorts and a tee shirt pretty much every day. I miss wearing a cardigan which I did pretty much every day at work but there’s no point in running the AC unnecessarily.

Masks are usually the most interesting thing I wear. I checked to see if Marimekko has any masks – apparently not – but I have located some made from Marimekko fabric on Etsy and I’m very tempted….

I’ve seen lots of Marimekko masks by small companies / shops that use Marimekko fabrics, but none by Marimekko itself.
I’ve been wearing mostly surgical masks; I’m a bit sceptical about masks made from fabric. Now there’s a business idea: surgical masks with prints. I wonder why nobody has done that yet.

That’s a cozy jacket and love the blue! I agree with Flora, I like this color combo better than your previous one.

About the masks I wear surgical too but I can only find pale blue. I wouldn’t mind wearing some other pastel colours or white.

Yes, that would be fun: masks in pretty colours. Or patterns.

This outfits is my favourite, so cosy yet elegant with harmonious colours.
I’ve got two sartorial groundhog day things: the all-weather jacket I wore last winter something like 6 months in a row is back. Or has been back since couple of week now. I wonder if it will see next spring.
The second sartorial groundhog day is my remote office wear. It begins to look we are not returning back to office on the first half of next year either, so I might need to do something for this also. -q

That’s the problem: if you wear something all the time, you’ll probably end up hating it. As much as I love my cashmere tops, I usually feel like burning them by March…

that blue scarf is so nice with the blue jacket! I hope that the rest of the packing and the move go smoothly for you! I struggled with my wardrobe a bit when we started packing up too, it felt strange not being able to get to everything but it was so worth it as now I have that wardrobe room of my dreams! 🙂

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope that you had a great weekend 🙂

Thanks, Mica! actually, packing up my wardrobe is the easiest part: I’m quite good at decluttering, and I prefer a smaller wardrobe anyway. It’s all the other stuff that I didn’t even know I had…

What a pretty scarf, Tiina! And you know, sometimes the same old, same old works brilliantly so why change it! You always look stylish and comfortable to me!
