Casual wear, stripes, seaside… Am I starting to repeat myself? Perhaps, but I don’t really care. In other words, this won’t be the last post this year featuring all of the above. Because this, the lazy weekends and trips to the sea, is what I will miss the most during the long, dark winter.
And, given that it’s September, the lazy days by the seaside are numbered. Any day now the weather will turn colder, and leaves will turn red and yellow. But not quite yet.
I know a lot of you can’t wait to try out new styles for autumn and look forward to new colours and shapes. I do, too. But at the same time I want to squeeze every bit of summer fun out of these last, fleeting days of warmer weather.
So, I won’t be putting my summer wardrobe away just yet. It’s still warm enough, so that a cardigan or a light jacket is all I need in the evening. There’s still time to visit summer restaurants (which makes Professor M very happy) and take umpteen photos of golden sunsets.
Yes, I think autumn will have to wait, just a little while longer.

Nice. Lovely outfit. I especially love the Furla bag, which will come as no surprise to you.
Well done on the transfer of your blog. I know what that entails. I always employ an IT guy. The last one just quit so I need a new one.
Greetje
Thanks, Greetje.
I had Pipdig do the whole thing. I have zero patience (and even less skill) to do any IT stuff myself…
As I’m concerned, you can keep on doing lots of ‘casual wear, stripes, seaside’ if the weather permits it!
I do love a striped t-shirt, cool sneakers and fabulous accessorizing and you totally rock your casual style (with an elegant twist which I love)
besos
Thank you, that’s so sweet of you.
I love autumn, but the weather can be a bit unpredictable here. So, every sunny day is a good day and should not be wasted.
You always wear your stripes so well. Enjoy them and the sea and those Summer restaurants for as long as you can.
Thanks. Summer restaurants will close by the end of September, and it is at times quite difficult to book a table as they’re so popular for all sorts of parties. But I think we’ve managed to visit one every weekend for the past month nevertheless.
I am a regular reader of your blog who enjoys your effortless, chic style and humour. Today is the first time I am able comment without signing in so you sure to hear more from me 🙂 PS: I have the same hair as you, lots of fine, curly hair, so I know your frustration however 10 years ago I purchased a GHD straightener (other brands do not work on my hair) and it changed my life, literally. I don’t go for the poker straight look – too much time to do that, and it does not suit me – but a once over (which does no damage) gives some sort of semblance. Btw your hair looks fab too me – our own eyes are always more critical. Just a point of interest after your previous post which I could totally relate to. I too am relishing the last days of summer here on the Black Sea and not rushing for the long winter. Lise
Thank you Lise. I’m excited to hear from a regular reader, and happy you found it easier to comment.
I’ve been a bit wary trying those straighteners, but I suppose it’s not really that different from regular blow drying, in terms of heat damage. I usually just blow dry (the top layer) of my hair, using a big round brush. I only do the top layer because I’m always in a rush and the hair will curl up anyway as soon as I get outdoors (humidity…).
