Winter Wear
It’s such an elusive concept, completely dependent on what ‘winter‘ is like in your neck of the woods.
Anyway, I showed you what I was wearing in Finland, so let’s have Tiina’s take on British winter next.
Of course, this is what I was wearing a couple of weeks ago.
I don’t always post outfits in chronological order. I tend have my posts prepared a week or two before they go live, and I often change the order of the posts, too, depending on my mood. It’s extremely rare for me to post something the day I wrote it, but I’ve done it on a few occasions. So, there you have it, this is how I plan my blog posts: well in advance. It’s just the way I am: I need time to prepare something, to think about it and work on it. And then I may just change my mind and do something completely different at the last minute.
Yes, I do that with outfits, too: I may have an outfit for work planned the night before, carefully selected to suit the occasion and the weather. And in the morning I’m just not feeling it and decide to wear something completely different. Which of course leads to a mad rush and clothes tossed all over the floor…
So, why bother planning at all if I always change my mind? Well, it’s always good to have a plan, just in case. Besides, having a plan doesn’t mean you have to follow it. But, if you have a plan, you don’t have to make decisions under pressure, either, because you always have the plan the fall back on. Does that make sense? I didn’t think so, either.
Anyway, as I had a few posts on my holiday looks and Madeira prepared, I thought I would just mix it up a bit: holiday looks, Finnish winter, British winter… Otherwise, I would be showing you post after post after post, for weeks on end, nothing but heavy winter gear and snow, and that would get a bit boring. It would certainly get a bit boring for me, so I decided to mix it up a bit.
So, today we have my new favourite coat again, with the skirt I bought in autumn, and one of my favourite cashmere sweaters and an old bag. Well, you’ve seen all of these before, and will find the details and links to old post at the end of this post.
Outfit details:
coat: Hobbs (seen before HERE and HERE) / skirt: Gerry Weber (seen before HERE) / cashmere sweater: Zadig & Voltaire (old, seen before HERE) / shoes: Clarks / bag: Lancel (old, seen before HERE) / gloves: Dents / scarf: Lochmere / sunglasses: Dolce & Gabbana
Do you plan your outfits ahead or play it by the ear?
Or are you as neurotic as I am and do both?
Tiina

I love this coat and its color! And the skull too – just right. xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Thanks, Patti. Yes, a little bit of colour and a little bit of rock, that's me.
I adore the colour mix here. I will carefully choose outfits for the blog however when I'm in a rush to go somewhere it totally depends on my mood. I might have an idea of what I'd like to wear but if I'm having a bad self confidence day then that might change entirely.bisousSuzanne
I know what you mean about self-confidence, we all have those days. And we should always have something that works on those days, to hide the self-confidence issue a bit.
Doesn't the colour of the coat look so great with that tee! Love it! Our winter must feel so mild compared with Finland. Great fringing on that bag.I think some planning is always good – it then gives you the option to either stay with the plan or go off plan!http://petitesilvervixen.blogspot.co.uk/
Thanks! It's actually a cashmere sweater, one of my favourites. Yes, well, British winter is very different. It can be cold, too, but in a different way.
Gorgeous colours as the others mentioned. i love all the cute extra details like the fringing and skull and boots. Makes it individual and interesting to look at.I sometimes plan obsessively, waking in the night to keep going, and sometimes throw on any old thing…often with just as much success! Although what keeps me planning is that awful moment when you need to leave and STILL have nothing organised. Gah!xo Jazzy Jack
Oh yes, that awful moment, I think I've had a few of those. When you've pulled the contents of your wardrobe on the floor and nothing seems to be right, and you have exactly 5 minutes to catch the train… Yeah, that moment…
Great coat! I think it's good to have a plan but also to be flexible.www.amemoryofus.com
My thoughts exactly! Having a plan also gives you the option to be flexible, yet prepared.
The colour of the new coat would brighten any dull Winter day , specially with the skull appearing underneath. I can only admire your organisational skills, for the most part mine are missing in action.
Being organised is second nature, a necessity. I'm a freelancer: I have 4-7 employers at any given time. And I have two homes, in two countries. Still, there are mornings when I have to check my diary to know where I'm going, and I've spent a lot of time looking for something only to finally remember it must be in the other home… And I believe we all need a few 'messy areas', both at home and in life. Too much organisation makes you stressed.
Oh, I wish I had my blog caught up by 1 or 2 weeks! I always try, but once I get posts published ahead of time, something happens and I fall behind again. That coat is such a pretty color, especially with the pop of color under it from the sweater.Carriecurlycraftymom.com
Well, life is full of surprises, things happen, never mind how well you plan ahead. I usually have at least a couple of posts prepared, but I may change my mind and post something else instead if the mood strikes me.
Good outfit, but I really liked your rock outfit when I clicked through to an old post with your bag, leather jacket and fuchsia wrap dress. I had never pictured that bag to be yours. But then again, I don't really know you, now do I?Greetje
There's a little bit of rock chick in me, too. Well, I have quite a few accessories with skulls and studs etc. But sure, this bag is the only fringed item I have, and it doesn't come out to play very often.
