I love autumn

how to wear a graphic tee over 40

So, autumn is almost over, and I have hardly had time to enjoy it. And autumn is my favourite season! Life has just been way too busy lately…

Anyway, these photos are actually from almost two weeks ago. But I like them, and I like the outfit, so I’m posting them now. Better late than never, huh?

Yes, that’s how busy I’ve been: I haven’t even had time to post all the photos we took in October. Or rather, I haven’t had time (or energy) to write the blog posts to accompany the photos. Instead, I’ve spent my evenings marking essays, about 130 to be exact, for the past two weeks…

As I said, autumn is my favourite season, for many reasons: it’s neither too hot nor too cold, and I just love the autumn colours. And it makes me just a bit sad that it’s November already. Because we all know what that means: autumn is over (or, at least the nice part of autumn), and winter is just around the corner.

We actually had some snowfall last week (just for one day, and the following day all the snow was gone again). And the days are getting shorter, that’s really getting to me. I mean, getting up in the morning is so difficult (OK, I’ve never been a morning person), and leaving for work before sunrise is just brutal. And it gets dark before I get back home! And it’s only going to get worse.

OK, in case you didn’t already guess, I’m not a fan of winter. But I can cope with it.

But for the time being, let’s enjoy these autumn pictures…

I absolutely hate winter! And it’s getting worse and worse for me. I love autumn though. It just seems to go by so fast! I hate the feeling of bundling up in big coats and boots and winter seems to just drag on and on. We just changed the clocks last night so now we have to deal with darkness so early in the day. Love your outfit! It’s so put together but seems like it is very comfy. Hope your busy schedule lets up soon. Arlene from NJ

I hear you… If only we could skip over winter. And yes, changing the clocks, that just makes it worse! It’s dark when I leave home in the morning, and it’s dark when I get back. I feel like I should be hibernating.

After seeing your outfit I love autumn! Well, maybe I also appreciate the incredible colours on the trees 🙂 I’ve taken so many photos of the leaves this autumn as we’ve experienced the most fantastic weather, keeping the leaves on the trees forever, in those glowing colours. The dog is taken for extended walks these days! Your outfit is a masterclass in colour! It used to be colours for me, but with the change in my skin colour I have to enjoy them on you instead. I just love teal with magenta – it’s so vibrant. I think the skirt length can be very tricky, but you’ve nailed it here – and I’m learning 🙂 I just got one in the same length and struggled a bit with the tops to go with it. Now I just need some cool glasses too!

I love autumn colours, too, and I wish the would stay longer!
The skirt length is a bit tricky, especially trying to decide which coat to wear with it (it’s no accident I didn’t feature a coat in the post…). It’s way too cold for a leather jacket, and the skirt doesn’t look very nice with a long wool coat. Clearly, I need a new coat…

Autumn is a beautiful season, I sometimes feel sad to see it go as well.
This outfit is fabulous…a combination of a printed tee and a maxi skirt works so well.

      Thank you.
Autumn could last forever, if you ask me.

Initially I get so excited about the change of season. In England they are usually very defined, so it’s a lovely change. But, I get over them. Winter is the season I get over the quickest! Now I’m a blogger Winter is a bit stressful with the poor lighting – I feel your pain there. These Autumnal shots are gorgeous! xx Maria

Oh, yes, the poor lighting! Well, living so far up north, we’re in permanent semi-darkness at the moment, with a few hours of something like daylight in the middle of the day. The days will start getting longer very fast in January and February, but then it’s the cold… Winter lasts way too long, doesn’t it?

I admire your stoicism about Winter. I live in S Europe and after a week of rain I am fit to be tied and it’s still 20 degrees, not even remotely cold. I was brought up in Scotland and still never got used to rain, 🙂

Oh dear, the eternal rain… We have a second home in England, and winter there is just endless rain. It’s so depressing. To be honest, winter in Finland is somewhat easier, in spite of the cold. It’s this dark, rainy season between autumn and winter that is getting to me. I need some sunshine! Not hot weather, just sunshine, though. Will have to wait till February or March for that, I’m afraid…

Thanks, Jessica. The only problem with autumn is that it’s too short. By now all the leaves have fallen and it’s rainy all the time.

I don’t like Winter either – I can cope with the cold, it’s the dark that gets to me. I’ve enjoyed Autumn much more than I usually do, the orange and red leaves in the sunshine look so pretty. I love your top, the purple looks lovely with the blue. Thanks for linking up!

Oh yes, the darkness… Sunrise is after 8 am and sunset before 4 pm, and it’s only going to get worse. This is the nasty part of autumn, I guess, before winter sets in.

I’m also an Autumn lover, it’s my favourite season!, I love the warm temperatures, the colors, the grapes harvest, the landscapes!. And I deal with Winter quite well, it’s Spring which lowers my mood
And I love this color combo, the cool and colorful t-shirt and the fabulous skirt. Magenta and teal is a fab combo!

Oh yes, I know what you mean about spring. And I’m not talking about just the ‘is-it-ever-going-to-stop-snowing’ frustration. I guess we’re just totally depleted after winter, and can’t wait for summer to start.
