The No-Denim, Denim-Inspired Hot Weather Look

over 40 syle

This is my ‘fake denim’ look

Why fake denim? Why not just wear denim? Well, I find denim too uncomfortable on a hot day, and I want to wear something a lot lighter and less tight that keeps me cool. Well, as far as anything keeps me cool: I just don’t like hot weather…

And denim is definitely something I associate with much cooler weather. But that doesn’t mean I couldn’t imitate the denim look… by wearing a light blue linen shirt and chinos.

pendant

This pretty little silver pendant is a souvenir from Barcelona, and it can also be worn as a brooch. I just a love such a versatile piece of jewellery…

I’m wearing:

linen shirt: Marks and Spencer / linen t-shirt: InWear (old) / trousers: Pure Collection / shoes: Clarks / sunglasses: Chanel (old) / bag: Adolfo Dominguez / pendant: Masriera

Do you wear denim in hot weather?

I agree that sometimes real denim is too hot for summer. bisousSuzanne

There's nothing like denim on a hot day to make you feel sticky and uncomfortable. Well, maybe leather is worse…

I love skirts year round. I often wear trousers in summer because they keep me covered up (no sun screen needed). I suppose a maxi dress would work, too…

I'm all for 'fake denim' in hot weather. I just don't understand that if the temperatures are boiling that you'd want to wear a material as heavy as denim can be. Linen and chinos all the way. And how clever that your necklace can be a brooch too. Love the idea of that and the aqua colours of it.http://petitesilvervixen.blogspot.co.uk

Hot temperatures are quite challenging, when it comes to dressing. I would just like to walk aroung in my very own bubble filled with nothing ice water…
