In the past 18 days I’ve been on 6 planes (3 airlines, 4 airports), and never spent more than 2-4 nights in a row in one place. I commute between two countries more of less regularly, but this has been a bit hectic, even by my standards…

It all started the Thursday before Easter as I left Homebase 1 to go to Homebase 2, via Gatwick as usual, spent the Easter weekend there with my husband, Professor M. On Easter Sunday we left together for Barcelona.

We don’t actually fly together very often; usually it is one of us taking the plane to go meet the other one somewhere. So, while we are both seasoned frequent flyers on our own, flying together takes some negotiating. For starters, we have rather different approaches when it comes to getting to the airport… Professor M prefers a last minute mad race to the gate, whereas I like to take my time and grab a magazine or two on the way.
But I’m digressing here… So, after a dew days in Barcelona we got back to Britain via Gatwick on Wednesday (that would be flight number 3, in case you lost count).
A few days in Homebase 2, then on Sunday (the 27th) back to Homebase 1 (again via Gatwick) to catch up on some work on Monday and Tuesday.

And after 44 hours in Homebase 1 it was back to Homebase 2 on Tuesday evening (this time via Heathrow). On Wednesday I had a relaxing day in Homebase 2, and on Thursday we were off to London for a long weekend. And earlier tonight I flew back to Homebase 1.
I’m guessing the two questions you are dying to ask now are: 1) are we rich? (no) and 2) are we crazy? (most likely).
Anyway, this is the most coherent post I could manage at this point, having just landed, so to speak, back to Homebase 1. And now, given that I have to be at work at noon, and it’s almost midnight, I think I should just wish you all good night.
Happy Landings, and Good Night
Tiina
PS: I promise to stay put in Homebase 1 for a while now, or till the end of the month anyway…

Wow, and I thought our life was hectic! Kudos to you to even be able to manage a blog!! Love those touches of pink and that pink purse is amazing!xo ~kim (& chloe)
Thank you. Yes, life gets hectic sometimes… In my case, I always remind myself that this is a lifestyle I've chosen. Still, I look forward to staying in one place for the next few weeks…
You're a master traveler, and you look smashing, too! Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
Thank you, Patti. And you're actually right, I am sort of a master at traveling, having been a frequent flyer most of my life…
Wow. That is a professional is I have ever heard of one! You look stylish as you are zooming through those airports though.
Well, to be honest, I have some control over my working hours, it's not like I have to get up early in the morning after flying in… And these days I need a good night's sleep before going to work. The time difference is only two hours but it has an effect on me.
Well you look great for having been on the road so much!!
Thank you, Pam. I'm sort of used to this. Still, we took quite a few photos, and these are the best, or the least bad… I'm still not comfortable looking at my own pictures, too critical, I guess.
Wow, you do seem to be spending a lot of time on airplanes and airports…I like your outfits.. Sara
All that traveling sounds fun. Easy for me to say since I wasn't doing it 🙂 Love all the color in your outfits! Have a great week!
This sounds exhausting but no doubt your body has adjusted, as nothing shows in your airport shots. We are always our own worst criticts.
Sounds like a hectic schedule, and it reminds me of how my husband and I usually travel:)
Well, when you live in two countries, life can get a bit complicated… but I wouldn't change anything.
