Sunshine, rain, heatwave, thunder storms… That’s summer in a nutshell, at least in my neck of the woods. It makes getting dressed in the morning a bit of a challenge, though…
What to wear when it’s warm, but not hot, and sunny, but with showers…
Ah yes, layering… Of course. I’m not a fan of layering (two layers max, whatever the weather or season, otherwise I feel as if my clothes are suffocating me), but I’ll give it a go.
So, a very casual outfit for dinner at a summer restaurant (= a restaurant on an island, only accessible by boat and only open in summer). Yes, casual is fine. So is dressed up. The dress code is very relaxed, and this time I went casual. Or maybe all my nice clothes were in the laundry…
anyway, it was raining when we left home, the sun came out once we got to the island, and it started raining again before we got back home. So, as you can see, it’s perfectly normal to be wearing sunglasses and a raincoat…

You talked before about that restaurant isn t it! It sounds so fantastic! But then, I love being on water or nearby water!
Yes, we took some photos there for my Midsummer post, the same place. it's a very small island (with just the restaurant and a small marina and docks) but it's a great place for those 'nothing but rocks and the open sea' photos. You have a good memory!
Trying to look stylish in Summer is like trying to look good in the Artic. The challenges almost completely defeat us. But Fall is just around the corner and that's when most people's attention turns back to fashion. Nice post.
Yes, that's true! Although trying to look good in winter (sleet, snow, take your pick) is just as difficult. But, as you said, Fall is just around the corner, let's make the most of it.
That coral scarf is the perfect addition!!
Thanks, Andrea! Can you believe that I have this same scarf in 4 other colours, too?
Great look, I love that raincoat! My summer style fashion is pairing shorts and tops. I keep buying patterned shorts and not having the right solid tops for them. Kelseyacupofteawithkelsey.blogspot.com
Thanks, Kelsey. Patterned shorts always look great, and it sounds like a hot summer. Isn't it funny that there are never enough clothes to make all the combinations we like? I'm definitely guilty of bulk buying t-shirts, yet I always seem to be missing 'the one' that I desperately need for a particular style…
I am on the opposite side, I love layering and really miss it in Summer, so I try to find ways to get away with it. Also, your raincoat is fabulous!Thank you for joining the Thursday Moda link up!Maryhttps://www.themarycurator.com/
Thanks, Mary. Well, I guess I do layering, too (after all, I often wear cardigans or linen shirts over t-shirts), I just try to keep it to a minimum. Or maybe I don't consider adding a cardigan or a light jacket proper layering (more of a necessity when it gets cooler…). Hmm…
Thanks for joining the Top of the World Style linkup party with your post. Great photos and rain jacket. I didn't know that you have fireweed in Finland.
Thanks, Nicole. Oh yes, fireweed, it's absolutely everywhere. Literally, everywhere.
Sounds like a cool place to visit during the summer! And I agree this summers weather has been a little too crazyThanks for linking up with Weekend WearxoMel
Thanks, Melissa. Yes, this is one of my favourite restaurants, always worth a visit.
