This series of posts explores the roots of my personal style.

The older I get the more I realise that my personal style has been influenced by my mother’s impeccable casual elegance. And even though I have never tried (or even wanted to) copy her style, I credit the valuable ‘style lessons’ that I learned just by observing her as the building blocks of my own sense of style. I call them ‘style lessons’ (instead of a set of rules to follow) because they are teaching me a skill that I can apply in my own way and for my own purposes.

Wow, she truly was a stylish lady. I can't say my mom was/is ever my style icon or that I learned anything fashion wise from my mom. We are just too different with different lifestyle. I love looking at these pictures Tiina.. I'm sure you have a whole collection of fabulous pictures of your mother. May she rest in peace 🙂

I'll second the "wow" and raise you a "shazam!" What a beautiful woman with great style. I'm new to your blog, Tiina, and anxious to learn from you!
