Ice Cream Weather
Remember that lovely Saturday when it was really warm and sunny in Helsinki? The sky was clear (as it often is in late winter and spring), and it felt like summer (a bit early for this time of year). It was almost 20°C (68 °F) and the sun was shining. Remember that?
I think it was last Saturday. I know: that was ages ago (or so it feels), long before it started raining and got all murky and cold again. But for one glorious day we all thought that Mother Nature had decided to skip over spring, and summer had arrived.
Of course, it was just a preview. You know, ‘coming soon to you neighbourhood‘ (or at some point in the more or less distant future).
However, in Finland we learn early that whenever you have the chance to take your summer clothes for a spin, you should take it. Because who knows when the next opportunity arises.
OK, maybe I’m exaggerating. I do remember complaining (repeatedly) about the heat wave last summer, and I have plenty of childhood memories of warm summers.
But it’s spring now, and we have a long way to go before summer (well, a few weeks, but it feels like a long way to go). So, would you mind if I enjoyed this little preview of summer just a bit longer? Come on, Mother Nature, what do you think, could we have some more of that? Please?

Looking good. You are not alone with cold weather we have the heating on too, in Nice 🙂
Well, there’s one thing I like about cold weather in Finland: it stays outdoors. It’s never cold indoors, and we haven’t had the heating on for a couple of months. In fact we tend to have the opposite problem: it’s almost impossible to get the flat cool in summer…
lovely to see you enjoying an ice cream and wearing those fab colors!, you look summery and cool!!
Thanks! Summer is just around the corner…
I want sorbet! And your outfit is fab. We still have heat on here! One minute it’s nice and sunny and the next it’s chilly and too uncomfortable in the house with no heat. Well, that’s the way spring has been here for a few years now. We are cold and then we go right into hot weather. So I get it. Enjoy your weekend! Arlene from NJ
Oh dear… I remember when I was living in France, or southern Spain, and it was unbearably cold in the mornings. Indoors!!! I’ve never been so cold in my life (it’s never cold indoors in Finland, never mind the outside temperature). But Yeah, we have that fluctuating weather, too: rain and sleet one day, then sunshine and hot weather the next. Or, rather, the other way round (that’s what happened lat week).
I love ice cream weather! It means sunny and warm outside. Your scarf is such a pretty coral and matches perfectly with the ice cream accessory!
Polka dots: I don’t have any in my closet! Love your colorful outfit!
Thanks! Polka dots are a novelty for me, too. I have these trousers and a scarf, that’s it. But when it comes to stripes… Let’s just say I stopped counting long ago.
Love the mix of colors and patterns here, the coral scarf is such a great color on you and matches your sherbet! My mom always had a container of it in the freezer, yum!
thanks for linking!
Thanks, Jessica! It’s always a great idea to have something sweet in the freezer, you have a smart mom.
It’s a shame the warmer weather didn’t stay around but it’s great you got to enjoy it while it lasted! Such a fun colourful outfit too, I love your scarf and cardi combo! 🙂
Hope that you had a great weekend! Thank you so much for joining the #weekdayWearLinkUp 🙂 The next weekday wear linkup is live on my blog, I’d love you to join!

Well, in Finland warm weather comes and goes…
Love the sherbert colours, and the ice cream ones too. Jacqui Mummabstylish
Thanks, Jacqui. Softer colours for summer, right?
