Which do you prefer, gold or silver?
I refuse to pick one, I like both, and I match my jewellery to the colours I’m wearing on a particular day. So, if I’m wearing blue or green, it’s usually gold-tone jewellery, and silver with pink, fuchsia or purple.
However, today I wanted to try something different, and decided to wear gold-tone jewellery with this hot pink dress.
I’ve worn this dress only twice: first for my wedding reception (which was held at an airport VIP room on a very cold December day), and then a few days later for Christmas dinner in Madeira. What it needs, though, is a coat: something a bit ornamental, maybe brocade opera coat -style… something very early 60s Mad Men…

I like this type of a dress; in fact, I have a wardrobe full of them, in various colours. I just haven’t worn any of them for a while. I think it’s mainly because I think this type of a dress is perfect for winter: with a little cashmere cardigan on top, and the Spanx it requires is really not something I want to wear on a hot day… And constant travelling has made me lazy: I seem to favour wash-and-wear jersey dresses that can be tossed into a suitcase and always emerge wrinkle-free…

What do you think, do pink and gold go together?

I prefer silver, but in this case, I like gold too. You're very pretty in this dress.Kisses 🙂
Thank you Vicky, that's so sweet of you.
I love the pink dress! is a dream!!!! very beautiful !!!! kissssssssssssssssssss
Thank you. I like pink, and this dress is special, of course…
I think yellow gold goes with anything so I'm not the best person to ask. Like you, though, I wear both, depending on my outfit so, when my fiancé and I just designed our engagement rings, we designed mine to be both yellow and white gold. I love the bracelet on your right arm; it's incredible. I have a starburst brooch very like yours but it hasn't found it's way into my blog yet.But the main reason I clicked on you, was because you and I look so much alike, especially when we're wearing such similar outfits! I hope you don't mind, but I'm sharing this link so you can see what I mean. http://www.sublimemercies.com/2014/01/radiant-orchid-acid-trips-and-womens-lib.html
Thanks, Charlotte. Yes, we do look a bit alike (the curse of the curly hair… You seem to be more at ease with yours, though) and wearing similar colours ( although the colours are a bit off in the photo; the dress is actually quite pink…). I've been visiting your blog every once in a while, too, and can relate to your interest in feminism (Women's Studies minor at University, about a hundred years ago)
I've always loved my curly hair! I find it sad that some women fight theirs. I have a minor in Women's Studies too, also about a hundred years ago.
First of all, my GOSH that frock is amazing!! But secondly, I do love silver jewelry a lot more than gold, but you are rocking this gold brooch, it looks wonderful with the frock too
Thank you Jacqueline. Pink and gold was a new idea for me, too, as I wear silver much more often. But I really wanted to wear that brooch (I usually wear it on the collar of my blue winter coat) and gold looks so pretty in summer…
