I turned 50 last week…
And if you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I celebrated my birthday in Barcelona (like I’ve done almost every year for the past 10 years or so…). I will of course post pictures of Barcelona, and travel outfits, in due course.
Now, however, I’m back home, having landed an hour and a half ago. And it’s late. Or early morning, rather. Really early (it’s was a late flight…), and I’m glad I don’t have to go back to work until Wednesday…
Anyway, since big birthdays are supposed to be a time of reflection and taking stock (you know, past achievements, future plans, that sort of thing…), I thought a look at how my sense of style has evolved is in order.
So, here it is: my five decades of style…
Starting with the late 60’s:
A very trendy holiday look from the 70’s:
I was a fashion student in the 80’s (made the dress myself):
Big hair and florals in the 90’s:
A brief love-affair with black in the 00’s:
And now I’m 50 and fabulous:
Or 50 and very tired, given that it’s 5 am and I got home half an hour ago…
So, let me wish you good night, or good morning, and have a great week.
Tiina

Happy Birthday! You have one year and a couple of days on me. Can't wait to see the Barcelona photos.bisousSuzanne
Thanks, Suzanne! I will be posting some Barcelona photos this weekend.
Happy Birthday, Tiina!! Loved the photos of all the different decades of your life. I also used to sew (and knit) lots of my clothes when I was a teen and well into 20s. Have a great couple of days off before returning to work, and I'm looking forward to Barcelona posts. xxx
Thanks, Natalia! I used to sew some of my clothes when I was a fashion student, in my early 20s. Haven't done it since… Sewing, knitting etc is not really my thing, drives me crazy…
Happy Birhtday ! Amazing photos 🙂 x
Thanks, Beata!
Beautiful pictures, congratulations! Really fabulous.
Thanks!
Happy belated birthday, Tiina! I've been wrapped up with myself and therefore have been slow at browsing Instagram/blogging and I missed your special day. I am sure it was a blast. Tiina, you are truly your mom's daughter. You were cute in your early years (i'd totally wear that kaftan top from the 70s today!), a hottie in your 20s, 30s and you live it up all the way! I love your choices (that black dress is haute!) and I am sure your 50s is going to be as interesting. Wait for me, I'll join you there soon 🙂 Kisses!
Thanks, dear! Yes, it was a wonderful trip, I always love going to Barcelona and miss it already…
Happy Birthday!! I have 3 more years until the milestone. I love the pics of your fashion each decade. I remember big hair! Love it and I didnt know you were a fashion student, love it!You look lovely, you know I love purple on you, now get some rest. Thanks, Jess! Oh yes, big hair… the thing is, I've always had big hair (still do), back then I just didn't try to tame it…
Oh, that black dress is really fabulous. What a great retrospective. Love your 60s dress too… 😉
Thank you!
