A windproof jacket, joggers, a long-sleeved top, and comfortable walking shoes. That’s my default outfit these days. Every day. The same outfit. Or almost the same: there’s very little variation.
For starters, there’s really no reason to dress up. And second, the weather hasn’t been very accommodating to dressier clothes. Don’t let the sunshine fool you: Nordic spring may look bright and sunny, but warm it isn’t… For the most part, it’s been around 5-9°C (41-48°F) and very windy.
So, my attention turns to accessories, again. Perhaps that’s my version of dressing up these days: choosing the sunglasses (also to shield my eyes from the really bright sun), a scarf, some jewellery…
In my last post, I had a more ‘let’s pile it on‘ approach: bold statement accessories for maximum impact. This time, I’m taking the minimalist approach: a simple and understated bag and sunglasses, no jewellery except for a narrow gold ring and a rose gold watch.
Yes, I’m one of those people who match their jewellery (including rings, and even the wedding ring) to their accessories. And although white gold and silver are my default mode when it comes to metals, I really like gold jewellery and gold-toned accessories in summer. Or spring. Whenever it’s sunny and bright…
Outfit details (all old):
sunglasses: Longchamp / silk scarf / bag: Coccinelle /
jacket: Makia / top: Selected Femme
Which one do you prefer, silver of gold? Or both?

You know it makes sense for you to have a nice collection of sunglasses as they are necessary and become a daily accessory.

Oh yes, absolutely! Thank you for providing me with a rational excuse for my sunglass obsession…
I love your scarves and sunnies and bags, as you make the most of them and look fabulously comfy and cool!.
I think that a colourful scarf and lipstick make the difference, wearing a bright colour near your face enhances your natural glow. I miss wearing lipstick, but we still have to wear a mask when outdoors here in Spain.
My eyes are also very sensitive to sunlight so I never go out without sunglasses!. I’ve amassed a small collection of sunnies with prescription lenses.

Thanks!
Yes, I’ve always felt that I need some colour near my face, otherwise I look tired and drab. It’s amazing what an impact the colour has, isn’t it?
Do you have to wear masks even when walking outdoors? On the street? Or nature trails? That’s tough! We only have to wear masks indoors in public places or on public transport. Strictly speaking, it’s a ‘recommendation’, there are no sanctions for non-compliance. Fortunately, most people wear masks, but there’s always someone who thinks the rules are not for them…
Wearing a mask outdoors has been compulsory for months, even in the street. It was the only way, as ‘recommendation’ didn’t worked here and most people are unable to use their common sense. Last year the rule was to wear a mask only when there were other people around, and it caused a massive increase in cases, so we had a second lockdown.
Actually I envy your responsible attitude.
Love the matching scarf and lipstick–it looks very polished and effortless.

Thanks, Lise!
Tina, I love this minimalist look! Your scarf is so pretty and plays beautifully against your striped top. The sun is deceptively bright here as well with the temperatures quite the same as yours. I am so ready to shed some layers!

Well, it’s getting warmer every day, right?
I like the print mixing of the red scarf with the stripes 🙂 Nice touch of colour too! I tend to mix my metals with accessories – I like silver, but have a handful of gold pieces and I’ll wear them all at the same time often 🙂
Hope you are having a good weekend 🙂 Thank you for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkUp!

Mixing metals can look very interesting and modern, don’t you think?
