Merry Christmas

It’s been a very busy month. And I’m exhausted. I suppose most people feel like that this time of the year.

However, I’m not talking about stress related to Christmas, buying presents etc. I’m way too exhausted to even think about any of that. And I will definitely stay away from the shops (I can’t stand the crowds and I hate the rampant consumerism).

No, it’s the daily grind that makes me want to just drop everything and go into hiding for an indeterminate period of time. And I have an almost irresistible urge to just give the middle finger to everyone and everything that is making my life more complicated.

Instead, I’ve been wrapping up my autumn courses, planning the courses starting in January, squeezing overdue projects out of students, chasing after unpaid salaries (one of the joys of being a freelancer…), dealing with all sorts of work-related problems and trying to explain the said problems to the people who are supposed to fix them…

But I’m getting there. After (what feels like) a million emails, everything is sorted for a smooth start when I go back to work in January. I’ve even rescued my small flat from turning into a total mess! That is to say I’ve cleared out the ironing board that had been standing in the middle of my living room for a couple of months, and sorted out the pile of clothes that had been accumulating on the said ironing board…

I can finally relax. If I still know how, that is. In any case, right now I really need a break. And as much I love you, my dear readers, I will also take a short break from blogging for Christmas. But don’t worry, I’ll be back in January.

If you want to know what I’m up to during my break, take a look at my Photo Journal on Instagram.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
