So, this is a half-hearted attempt at putting together an outfit for hot weather…
Given that hot weather always makes me feel really uncomfortable, I’ve given up any pretense of sophistication and style long ago. Instead, I go for comfort. That is, anything that makes me a little less uncomfortable, such as loose-fitting cropped trousers and a loose top.
Now, this of course goes against all of the style rules I usually follow (more fitted tops, nipped in waists…), but on a hot day one has to prioritise. And avoiding a heat stroke is definitely a top priority.
Yet, even while sweating my face off I would like to look as if I at least made an effort… So, instead of an ethereal summery style statement, I go for the cool girl look. If it works, it looks as if I won’t let hot weather mess with my style. And if it doesn’t work, well, then I’ll just look too cool to give a damn…

You are SO much more put together than I've ever been on a sweltering day, Tiina. My poison of choice would've been the rattiest tee shirt and the comfiest of gym pants, and slippers. Yup, that's about as cool as it gets for me when temperatures soar 🙂 you, on the other hand, have masterfully achieved the "too cool to care" look.
Thank you, Sheila. I find hot weather quite a challenge as whatever I wear it feels uncomfortable. And I usually end up wearing some sort of a muumuu simply because I can't bear any fabric touching my skin…
These pants are sort of interesting. Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style.
Thanks, Nicole. Yes, they are, and they travel well, too…
I really like those cool trousers. The wide leg is so loose and airy and is a great option for hot weather!http://www.mylittlenest.org
Thanks, Ruth. I find these trousers were comfortable in summer. The only downside is that they don't have pockets..
Love your wide-leg trousers! They look cool and comfortable!Maryhttp://marymurnane.com
Thanks, Mary. Yes, these trousers are comfortable, and perfect for hot weather, too.

Thanks, Jessica!Oh yes, it's not easy taking pictures on a hot day for sure! Not that it's easy in winter with lots of snow and cold weather, either…
I have to say I really like the short sleeve plaid top. It definitely fits the cool girl vibe you were going for! Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!Jennie
Thanks, Jennie.
