Autumn is usually my favourite season, but I’m not too keen on this stormy, rainy weather. For starters, it makes taking blog photos a bit challenging…
OK, let me explain…
Finding the perfect location can get a bit tricky. Take these rocks, for example. We’ve been to this island many times, and taken so many blog photos that I’ve lost count. And why not? The sea in the background adds some drama to the hair gently blowing in the wind…
It’s just that fantasy and reality don’t always meet… Especially when it’s late September, and instead of the ‘gentle breeze‘ of those long summer evenings you now get Mother Nature throwing one hell of a tantrum.
And then there’s the light. Or, rather, lack of it. It’s no longer a question of whether to take the photos before or after dinner (at the island restaurant). You get the photos done whenever the rain stops for a few minutes. And as fast as possible because you’re either freezing your [insert your choice of body part here] off or get your head blown off by Mother Nature who seems to think you’re her new kite… Besides, by the time you’re done with dinner and ready to leave, the sun will have set. And it will be raining again.
Oh well, sometimes you have to suffer for your art, right?

Despite any challenging situation, your pictures are gorgeous!, the wind adds movement and I totally agree that the sea and rocks add some drama. Even the sunlight looks perfect!
I love your coat and your striped t-shirt and matching scarf. Everything looks genuine, cool and comfortable too! And you look beautiful in the sunlight!

Thank you! We had to take these pictures really fast as it was not just windy but also quite cold. And it started raining as soon as we were done!
I love how the wind had added movement into your photos. Your jacket is great! xx Maria

Thank you! I’ve had this jacket for a few years, and I’ve even featured it on the blog a few times. I like my clothes to have longevity…
Well, you are doing a fine job of looking great in spite of mother nature. Wonderful coat!

Thank you! Truth be told, we took a lot of photos (very fast), and fortunately some of them were good enough to post.
Wind is usually the bloggers enemy but your photos turned out beautifully.Looking good in your favourite stripes with a standout coat. I do like Autumn as it usually mild and sunny, Spring and early Summer is our windy season.

Thanks Jodie. The wind can be a bit of a challenge, for sure. Then again, it’s always windy here, so…
What a beautiful location! And I love your pattern mixing! Great style!

Thank you! This is one of my favourite locations for blog photos. It’s actually a very small island, one of the 300 or so islands within this city.
I always find things tricky with the wind. Love this beautiful location and your jacket is fabulous! I love the print!
