Islington Vintage

Where would you go in London for fabulous vintage shopping?

Notting Hill? Brick Lane?

Try Camden Passage in Islington (Tube: Angel). This small area is packed with antique and vintage shops, markets, restaurants and all things retro.

What makes Camden Passage unique, then?

This is the place to go if you’re looking for a vintage wedding dress (try Annie’s for genuine vintage, Angelica Bridal for vintage-inspired modern dresses), vintage accessories and costume jewellery, mid-century glassware, or antique furniture.

Camden Passage also has something for the well-dressed gentleman: Fat Faced Cat has a well-edited selection of vintage finds for both men and women, in addition to gifts and luggage.

How about some retro signs?

Or toys?

What do you say, shall we give north London a chance?

Happy Shopping,

Tiina

I live in north London. I have never managed to get to those shops when they're open. They seem to operate on a different timescale from most of the world!I love browsing in Grays for jewellery (although everything I like is waaay out of my price range!) and those antiquy-junk warehouses you find outside London for china, furniture, antique linens etc. I have managed to cure myself of my car boot habit by living in the tiniest flat for four years, but we are going to move soon and I fear it may reappear with a vengeance …

I actually like quite modern pieces when it comes to furniture. But vintage jewellery is my thing, and I love looking for unique pieces…

I love poking around vintage and antique shops. There's always a treasure around the next display. Those signs are hilarious and would fit right into my home. Enjoy your weekend.

I know what you mean… I seem to collect vintage costume jewellery, I find it is often quite good quality and interesting.
