IS THIS THE BEST SHOP IN LONDON?

Where can you find unique vintage costume jewellery in London?

The answer: Hirst Antiques in Notting Hill, a.k.a costume jewellery heaven (on your way from Notting Hill Gate Tube station to Portobello Road Market). They also have an Etsy shop.

Hirst Antiques

This tiny shop is jam-packed with costume jewellery from every decade since the early 20th century. The prices range from £20 to hundreds of pounds, depending on the item and the designer. Yes, designers… Hirst Antiques has a selection of big-name costume jewellery, from Kenneth Jay Lane to Miriam Haskell to Trifari. There is also costume jewellery by fashion houses such as Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent, Nina Ricci etc.

Some of the items are quite over-the-top, but you can also find more subtle and classic pieces. This is the place to find that perfect statement necklace, bracelet or chandelier earrings. Or how about a Christmas tree brooch from their extensive selection?
And while you’re picking up that perfect art deco piece for yourself, don’t forget to look for a unique set of cufflinks for the special man in your life…

Even if you’re not into costume jewellery, make this your destination: the tiny shop full of display cabinets with jewellery in every possible colour is worth seeing, and likely to make you feel like a kid in a candy shop…

Happy shopping,

Tiina
