So, I went shopping…
And I got another Breton top… Seriously, what’s wrong with me???
HELP!
Is there a support group or a 12-step programme for stripe-a-holics?!?
OK, time to face the facts: I’m an addict. For me, a stripy top is like chocolate: I can’t pass it up. Hmm, maybe I’m addicted to chocolate, too. (Well, it’s Easter; it’s sort of normal to gobble up an Easter egg. Or two. Or five… OK, fine, I’m a chocoholic, too…)
It’s just that some addictions make you feel so good…
You know what, I think the best way to deal with these type of rather harmless addictions is to just own them. Head first. But instead of trying to ‘fix’ them, we should embrace them. After all, that’s what we do with our neuroses, too: embrace them and call them ‘quirks’ and hope that other people find them adorable. Or, that failing, at least charmingly eccentric.
So, I’m going to give in to my addiction to Breton stripes, and you can expect to see them popping up at (more or less) regular intervals on the blog. Let’s call it Tiina’s ‘signature style‘. It sounds so much better, don’t you think?
Outfit details:
denim skirt: KappAhl / Breton top: Gap / belt: Uterqüe / scarf: Alexander McQueen /
boots: Bronx / sunglasses: Dolce and Gabbana / bag: Chanel
So, tell me, what’s your addiction?
Tiina

I agree with you a thousand percent! Most of our midlife "addictions" are just happy hobbies. As long as not Schedule I substances are involved, I think we can indulge. And your new striped top is great! xox-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Thanks, Patti!
I think clothing period is my addiction—and even your stripes, are a simple, fun thing that doesn't badly affect others!! So happy striping!! jodiewww.jtouchofstyle.com
Thanks, Jodie! Yes, on the big scheme of things stripes are harmless, so let's keep on striping!
I'm with Jodie. Clothing can become an addiction and I am well into needing an intervention. bisousSuzanne
Maybe you just need more closet space?
I'm a stripe-application, too. What are we going to do????
Maybe we need to start a stripe-a-holics anonymous group?
I'm addicted to stripes, too! And I don't think there is anything wrong with it! :-)Great outfit!
No, absolutely nothing wrong with it. But I still think I need to experiment with other patterns, too. Maybe I need a dose of florals…
I'm all on board for your addictions, I'll be a big-time enabler as well. You look fantastic in stripes. I feel a case coming on here too. Hahaha.
Thanks, Melanie.
I think most of us are drawn to one type of clothing , for some white shirts , jackets for me and stripes for you.Enjoy that chocolate .
Your jackets are fabulous. If only stripes came in as many styles as your jackets…
Don't you worry about your addiction to stripes. I bought a white sweater with red stripes one week (wearing it as I type this) and the next week I bought a slightly longer one, cream with red stripes. I love stripes too.I am wearing my white with red one today on boyfriend jeans with red patent leather pumps underneath it and my husband called the outfit: very St.Tropez…Your outfit also looks darned good. Another winner. Love that scarf with it as well. What does it say on the shirt? Eager? Is that why you wear that scarf haha.Greetje
Red stripes… you,re giving me ideas here, I only have navy and white stripes (and one top with orange stripes, but that doesn't count, does it?)The text on the top is 'Voyager'.
Nothing wrong with that, chocolate and stripes are timeless. You look great by the way. Happy to find your blog!http://otherguiltypleasures.blogspot.no/
Thanks! And thank you for stopping by.
I'm a major stripe lover too. They're the best!www.amemoryofus.com
Absolutely, I couldn't agree with you more.

My favourite pattern too, as stripes go with anything.
Stripes are great and always will be so your addiction is understandable becuase you look great in them.
Thanks, Martina, for being such an enabler. Stripes are good, yes!

I couldn't agree with you more.
I laughed when I saw this post. That's me too!! I have a whole section in my closet of stripes and I cannot stop buying them. It's weird, slightly embarrassing and yes, MY SIGNATURE STYLE.
Signature style is something to strive for, isn't it? So much better than always chasing the new trends.
First, I am now getting into a few striped items. I think it took me some time to warm up to them, but I love the combo here with her denim stripes and this beautiufl purple print scarf. prettyhank you for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday!jess xxwww.elegantlydressedandstylish,com
Thanks, Jessica! I think we all have our favourite patterns. For me it's stripes, whereas I hardly have anything in florals (except scarves). But it's nice to experiment with something new, too.
Great look! Love the striped shirt with the jean skirt. Fabulous scarf too!
Thank you, Amy!
Haha! I'm a stripe-a-holic too! That is such a cute top! Love your bag!JillDoused In Pink
Thanks, Jill. The bag was a 50th birthday present from my husband, and it's by far my favourite bag.
no problem about being a strip-a-holic, it's just like a hobby!, and breton stripes match everything! so a girl can't have too many of them, as I'm concerned!Lovely ensemble!besos
I like the way your mind works… A hobby, of course! I wonder if I could call eating too much chocolate a hobby, too?
I almost bought that top and you're making me wish I did. So adorable! Great denim skirt too. Thanks so much for sharing with Fun Fashion Friday!OXOXDawn Lucy http://fashionshouldbefun.blogspot.com
It's a nice top, you should get it. Absolutely.
Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. There is nothing wrong with wearing stripes. They are a classic!
I couldn't agree more: a stripy top is a true classic.
I LOVE the mix of stripes and skulls! This is a great look!Eileen5feetofstyle.com | Instagram | Facebook
Thanks! That's one of my favourite pattern mixes, too. I have quite a collection of skull scarves, and I have almost as many stripy tops.
Yes shopping and chocolate are terrible addictions. I go through phases with shopping, if there is a purpose like shopping for my house, I have a hard tiem waiting to say ok I DON'T need to buy everything at once. I kinda end up all at the same time and rack up in debt. But then I'll go sober for a good while to get my standing good with my credit card (and husband lol).
It's quite a dilemma isn't it? Can't afford to get everything you want at once, but if you wait and save, the stuff you wanted is no longer available…
