‘I have nothing to wear’…
This outfit was the result of one of those ‘I have nothing to wear’ moments. Of course, like every woman, I have closets full of clothes. But it’s late winter, and I’m so tired of absolutely everything in my wardrobe. Or everything I’ve been wearing for the past few months, anyway.
Do you ever have those days when nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, seems right? I mean clothes, of course. We all have days when life sucks, for whatever reason. But I have no interest in wallowing in existential questions (and most of the time a good dose of wine and chocolate is more than adequate to fix a bad day, anyway), so let’s focus on clothes. At least that should be easy. Or manageable. Except when nothing seems right…
OK, it’s time to dig a bit deeper and see what I can do with whatever is lurking at the back of the old wardrobe…

I love the purple here. One thing I know for sure, I never go to my closet and think I have nothing to wear. It has more to do with my self confidence than my clothes on days like that. bisousSuzanne
I think, objectively thinking, there must be enough clothes in my closet, too. And yes, self-confidence probably has a lot to with it (I must have been having one of my 'fat-days' when these pics were taken). But I think it has also something to do with the changing seasons: I would just love to ditch all my winter clothes right now…
On days when I feel like I have nothing to wear, I go to Pinterest and try to get new ideas. I love the purple and that scarf is so pretty!JillDoused In Pink
That's a good idea, Pinterest. I've never used it for inspiration, maybe I should give it a try.
I hear ya, sister. I feel that way and my closet is full. Also, thanks for the link!
Every now and then I get this urge to completely purge my closet. A real thorough spring clean…
We all have those days! Sometimes I wear what I wore the day before, and hope for a miracle : > thanks for sharing, love your colors, xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Yep, I do that, too: wear the same clothes two days in a row at times. But I don't work in the same place every day, so I get away with it.
And look at you now… lovely scarf, beautiful bag matching that wrap top. Perhaps you should do it more often. I usually go to the shops, not to my closets when I am in such a mood. But yesterday I dived into my closet too and came up with three really nice "new" outfits. I am beginning to like this.Greetje
I'm just dying to go to the shops for change…
Just looked at my bank account…. no shops for me for a while…
I love your umbrella! Lol! I have to say that since chatting with other bloggers, I become a bit more creatieve so it does not happen that often anymore that I think:I have got nothing to wear!
Maybe it has something to do with my mood rather than my wardrobe. Just one of those blah days…
I really like your purple top, gorgeous bag and umbrella . We all have those sort of days specially at the end of season when everything feels wrong but in reality we are just bored with the season and ready to move on. I enjoyed your interview , a little insight into what makes you tick.
Yes, I think you just nailed it: the end of the season. Winter lasts way too long, and I'm so bored with all my winter clothes.
That bag is too fabulous! Such a gorgeous color!
Thanks! I love the colour, too.
Oh, I think this is a fabulous pulled together outfit! Love the pop of purple 🙂 I hear ya on the nothing to wear. I often wonder what it would be like to absolutely get rid of EVERYTHING and start over ;-)Monica.
Oh, don't tempt me… It's been years since the last time I had a really big cleanout, but it's very tempting to get rid of a lot of stuff.
In answer to your question, YES! I feel like almost everyday everything I try to pair together doesn't work! I feel like there are twice the number of wrong combinations in my closet to right ones. So unfair! And yet it feels inevitable at times.Love you in that purple scarf though! I could see that making a lot of outfits SMASHING!Xoxo,Ashley || Sed Bona
And to think that just about everything in my wardrobe can be mixed and matched, and I still get bored at times (or maybe that's why I get bored: I need something that is a bit of an odd one out).
But look at what you came up with! That stunning scarf is such a talking point and I love the purple of the wrap and bag. I think a beautiful scarf can go along way to fixing things, sartorially speaking and you've created a beautiful calming outfit here with the colour palette. On days like these I often go to my accessories for my starting point, picking out the colours of a scarf or necklace and then building the outfit from there.http://petitesilvervixen.blogspot.co.uk/
Thanks! Yes, the scarf has been quite useful: it seems to go with anything in my wardrobe. I also often build an outfit around accessories (usually the bag or a scarf).
That purple bag is gorgeous!I think everyone has nothing to wear days. Sometimes it's that I just don't have anything that suits my current mood!
Yes, that's it: mood… It's late winter and I'm just dying to ditch all my winter outfits, yet the weather is still cold. No wonder I'm getting moody…
I think you're looking gorgeous in this lovely color combo, and your accessories rock everything (as usual!!). Love particularly your beautiful bag and cute matching umbrella! And yes, there are days like that, and some chocolate helps to go through them!besos
Thank you. Purple is a great colour, and it it so well with anything. Even chocolate. Then again, what doesn't go with chocolate?
Love that bag!! So fabulous. Purple looks amazing on you!!!-Adrielewww.StyleAssisted.com
Thanks, Adriele!
These shades of purple look gorgeous on you, and combined with gray it's a sophisticated outfit. I know what you mean, Tiina, I also feel uninspired with winter clothes lately. Time for a change. 🙂
Thanks, Natalia. Yes, I think I've had enough of winter, but winter seems in no hurry to go anywhere.
I am so guilty of thinking that all the time and I know have way too much clothes. I love all the pretty shades of purple in this outfit!Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you next week. Have a great weekend!Alicewww.happinessatmidlife.com
Oh yes, the old dilemma: so many clothes but nothing to wear… I know, I know…
I also have nothing to wear! 😉 hee hee ….Thanks so much for sharing with Fun Fashion Friday & have a great weekend!OXOXDawn Lucyhttp://fashionshouldbefun.blogspot.com
Thanks!
Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. Having nothing to wear means you need an opportunity to dress for!
Oh yes! That's one way of looking at it. Or maybe I need to go shopping…
I have been going through the exact same thing. I'm so sick of wearing all my winter clothes and multiple layers, im desperate for spring and warmth and some new styles! You look great however, a wonderful outfit came about regardless :)Rxx
Thanks, Rachel! Yes, spring can't get here soon enough…
