Heavy Metal, Cobalt and Black

leather skirt

It’s that sartorially challenging in-between time again: winter clothes are too heavy and bulky, and spring clothes are not quite warm enough. And then there’s the mud, and pools of water or an odd patch of snow here and there. It’s not warm enough to lose the boots, that’s for sure, and I think I will be hanging onto a wool coat for a bit longer, too. But maybe it’s time to ditch the cashmere sweaters for something lighter…

winter boots

The boots were the starting point for this outfit. I felt the weather called for  heavy-duty footwear, and as I don’t wear skinny jeans (never, not going to happen), I will of course pair knee-high boots with a skirt. And as I only have 2 skirts (I’m more of a dress person…) and have shown you the boots with the other one already, I went for a leather skirt… And then it got a bit heavy-metal from there…

Chanel bag

I am wearing:

coat: Reiss (old) / top: Banana Republic (old) / leather skirt: Karen Millen (old) / scarf: Alexander McQueen / boots: Bronx (old) / bag: Chanel / sunglasses: Chanel

Are you still in winter wear or starting to wear spring clothes?

I love moto boots. I can't wait till our snow starts to melt. That'll mean that Spring might be finally deciding to show up. bisousSuzannehttp://www.suzannecarillo.com

I can understand that you must be tired of winter. You've had all the bad weather this year while we barely had any temperatures below freezing. It's weird…

I understand the skinny jeans, not for me anytime soon either. Those are great boots and they work so well with the leather skirt and of course your cobalt blue coat. I hope some Spring comes soon,we all tire of things at the end of each season.

Thanks, Jill. Yes, it's important to know what works and what doesn't, and stick to something flattering. To be honest, I can't wait for spring, at this point I hate all my winter clothes…

Fun boots, and you played them well! Stripes bring Spring, and so do bold colors which you love so much. It's strange, in Siberia this year also not as much snow as usual, and not as cold…What is that beautiful glass building on the background? Looks like a Victorian era conservatory (we have a couple of them here). xxx

Thanks, Natalia. The glass structure behind me is from the early 19th century, it's part of Helsinki University Botanical Garden and still in use.

Oh, so cute! The leather looks MARVELOUS on you, with your little Breton T and cobalt extras! Great look that can transition into early spring with shoes instead of boots and a blazer instead of the coat! So chic, as always.

Thanks, Jan! I've worn that Breton T so many times that I should hide it somewhere for a few months… but I won't. I'm addicted to it, it's really bad…

I know what you mean… I wear spring clothes under thick coats.
