This outfit has a bit of the 70’s vibe
The A-line skirt, a plaid shirt tucked in… for some reason that reminds me of the 70’s. Maybe because my mother used to wear a lot of A-line skirts back then. And I think I had more than one or two plaid shirts, too…
As far as retro influences go, the 70’s is probably not my preferred decade. First of all, having actually lived through it, there’s always the danger of looking stuck in the past rather than referencing fashions past. And then of course, the 70’s fashions are not the obvious choice for someone with an hourglass figure… But here we are, with a little nod to the 70’s most subtle trends: denim, the A-line skirt and plaid.
I’m wearing:
shirt: KappAhl / skirt: Cubus / trench: Burberry / shoes: Clarks / bag: Furla / sunglasses: Coach
How do you wear the 70’s styles?

This is a pretty look. The colors are attractive. I agree it has a 70s vibe but I like that era and its clothes.
Thanks, Ally. I like the 70s styles, too. They're just not the best looks for my frame…
Oh, I used to love skirts like that!! Well, really, I love almost everything about 70s style. And good on you that you can still tuck shirts in, because my buddha belly says absolutely not! :)I saw you on Visible Monday and came over here to say hello. Here's my Visible Monday post…http://www.midlifemakeover.me/2015/11/the-no-repeat-november-challenge.htmlHave a great week!Jeanine
Thanks! I usually wear pencil skirts, so this is a bit of a novelty for me. Well, this is the only A-line skirt I have, so there.
I like the 70's looks, and I esp identify with the A-line denim skirt. I think you look great,-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Thanks, Patti! I'm a bit out of my comfort zone here, both with denim and the A-line… but you have to experiment a bit, right?
Super cute…I love denim skirts right now!Laurawww.24-7style.com
Thanks, Laura! Denim skirts are new to me, but I really like this one.
It does have a 70's vibe to it , I must admit to wearing something quite similar back then but never with such a great Burberry trench.
The trench was love at first sight; I just had to have it when I saw it… But I've been wearing it for years, so I guess it paid off.
Your outfit is truly a classic BUT I am really really starting to covet that gorgeous pale pink Furla bag. I've noticed it before. It's stealing the show!
Thanks! Well, when I got the bag I decided to see if I could combine it with a number of different outfits. I got it for work, so it should go with whatever I wear every day…
Great skirt, i love those but actually dont have one. The 70's where great with cloting accept for the flared trousers. Can't get used to them.www.fashionandfoodandotherstuff.com
This is the only A-line skirt I have, and I bought it on an impulse. But I still think I will be sticking with pencil skirts, they're better for my body type.
I definitely get the 70s vibe! I think it's all in the skirt – like you said it just seems to be such a 70s style.Really like the bright coat you've worn with this too, such a nice cheerful colour.Away From The Blue Blog
I always associate the A-line skirt with the 70's, maybe because my mother used to wear them all the time.
Loving how you styled plaid with the skirt. I can't get enough of the 70's vibes here and that are back in the fashion world. Thank you for linking up to "Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me" Rachel xoGaray Treasures
