If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was holidaying in Germany. Of course, we visited Professor M’s relatives, but we had time for some ‘sightseeing’ (= shopping and a couple of art exhibitions), too.
However, when it comes to art, I prefer small, well-curated galleries to big museums. Yet, it is often street art that really inspires me. Not only because I often get ideas for my own ‘art-projects’, and that’s why I sort of collect photos of graffiti.
Anyway, I thought I’d treat you to a small, curated selection of street art I saw in Germany. For instance, check out the amazing graffiti we came across in Dortmund:
And in Cologne I felt like Alice in Wonderland:
But there were other weird and wonderful creatures, too:
And in Berlin we stumbled upon this art installation. There’s a painted bear for each of the countries in the world, in alphabetical order. And of course I just had to get a close-up of the ‘Finland’ bear (‘juhannustaika’ = midsummer magic)…
What type of art inspires you?
Tiina

Thanks, Greetje.
Very very nice. I'm going to a Salvador Dali exhibition in Germany! And in the Netherlands too a Karel Willink museum!
Sounds interesting!
