I bought this top a couple of months ago, on a whim. Nothing unusual about that. In fact, that’s how I buy most of my clothes: I see something I like, try it on, and get it. But I usually have at least some sort of an idea how to make the item in question work with my existing wardrobe.
Whereas this top… Well, I saw it and sort of liked it. And I thought I should buy something a bit different for change. You know, instead of what I usually get (= another t-shirt). Of course, I had no idea what to wear it with, or if I had anything that would match the colours. Not exactly the smartest shopping strategy, I know…
Anyway, I thought it was about time to give it a go, and since denim goes with anything, why not team the top with a denim skirt?
Not very creative or innovative dressing, but that’s how I roll. I have neither the time nor the interest to play with my wardrobe. I just want to get dressed and get on with my life. Of course, I want my outfits to look good. I just don’t want to put any effort into them. Because if I have to think about how to put together an outfit, it sort of takes all the fun out of it, and dressing becomes a chore. Anything that requires planning and thinking is a chore. And that’s the antithesis of fun. Or maybe my brain is just overloaded…
Does that make sense?
As far as dressing is concerned, I just want to grab something in my wardrobe, put it on and look fabulous. Is that too much to ask?
Outfit details:

Love this denim skirt and I need to get one in my wardrobe, a great look with your pretty floral blouse. x Jacquiwww.mummabstylish.com
Thanks, Jacqui. A denim skirt is one of the most versatile pieces I have in my wardrobe, I wear it year round (and in my climate that's not very usual). And it goes with anything, literally.
Your pretty blouse is lovely , I can see it with many different options. The denim skirt always a good idea.
Thank you, Jill.
I really need to put my denim skirt back in circulation. Don't forget to come link up on A Labour of Fashion. Would love to have you join us
A denim skirt is just such a versatile piece! And you can wear it year round, too! Thanks, Linda.
I love how you styled the skirt. And, of course, your signature umbrella. Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style.
Yes, me and my sun umbrella, never leave home without it. I prefer it to sun screen, that's why…
Very pretty top.. a tropical vibe! I had been looking for a denim skirt for awhile and finally found one! Looks greatthanks for linking!jess xxwww.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
Yes! I fell for the tropical vibe, though it makes no sense (as I hate hot weather). I have two denim skirts: this pencil skirt and an a-line skirt. I only ever wear this one, simply because it fits better.
I think the blouse is perfect with the casual denim skirt, and the overall look is relaxed and pulled together. Thanks for linking up! xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Thanks, Patti.
