The downside (or advantage, depending on your point of view) of living in a cold climate is that you need quite a collection of coats. I mean, with four seasons (3 of which require proper outerwear), that’s at least 6-7 different coats…
Or maybe it’s just me. OK, I may have a small(ish) coat addiction… And no, I haven’t counted how many coats I have. To be honest, I don’t really want to know…
However, I would like to find that one, perfect coat. The coat for all occasions. The coat that goes with all my clothes and travels well. The coat that takes me from sunshine to rain.
But I know it doesn’t exist. For starters, you need a very different type of coat for a windy, rainy weather. That is, one coat /jacket for summer, another one for autumn / spring, and a third one one for winter…
And then there’s my well-documented weakness for wool coats. Like this one.
Well, this one is different from the other wool coats I have, of course. For starters, it’s unstructured and knee-length. And that’s something my wardrobe was lacking. The length makes it very practical: it’s easier to fold over a chair (in a coffee shop) or fit into an airplane overhead locker. And the unstructured style means that it fits over anything.
As I said, this coat is a great addition to my autumn wardrobe.
Yes, I said autumn wardrobe. Winter is a different thing altogether. At least when you live in a cold climate…
That’s my way of saying that the hunt for the perfect winter coat is only starting…

What’s your idea of the perfect coat?
Or do you need several coats per season?

Thank you! I fell in love with this coat as soon as I saw it. And it’s really comfy, too! I’m trying to get as much wear out of it as possible before winter sets in and it gets too cold…
I want to jump in your coat addiction party!! Love your choice here – especially the fabric xx Maria

Thanks, Giulia!
Beautiful coat! I love the structure and colors. I live in the South, but I am sure I would have a coat addiction if I lived in a colder climate. They just make a look and there are so many lovely ones out there. I have 3 already.
