Casual Cashmere

casual cashmere over 40

I love cashmere…

It’s warm and gentle on your skin, which makes it the perfect material for winter wear. And my default winter outfit is a sweater / cardigan and a dress / skirt / trousers. Then I just add boots, a scarf and a coat (the colder the weather, the bigger the coat) and I’m good to go.

So, over the years I have accumulated quite a few cashmere tops…

This one is perfect for a casual weekend look, but I’ve also worn it to work. And yes, it’s hand-washable. And no, so far I haven’t lost any of the sequins. Which is good, as it’s one of my favourites. It feels so soft and luxurious, and yet it makes me feel a bit of a badass.

40+ denim and cashmere

It was a windy and cold afternoon when we took these photos, and I think I caught a cold. I’ve been sniffling, sneezing and coughing the whole week, feeling miserable and exhausted. But I managed to get through the 3 days of work I had scheduled, a bit foggy-brained but still…

Any tips on how to cure a cold?

Vitamin C. Lots of it. And keep wearing those beautiful cashmere sweaters.

Cool sweater! I still don't have any cashmere sweaters, but you inspire me to look for a funky one.I got a flu myself, it's pretty miserable… drinking lots of tea, taking over the counter medicine, sleeping and watching cozy mysteries… that's my answer. Get well soon!

Oh poor you! It's winter, you get a flu, sooner or later, right? It took me at least a week to get better, so frustrating… And cashmere, it's just one of those things you cannot resist: you try it, you want more…

Oh yes, posing on a windy beach may not be the smartest thing to do in winter, I can only blame myself.Yes, nothing beats cashmere… I practically live in cashmere December-April, both in Finland and in Britain.

Your cashmere sweaters look so warm and cosy and in such pretty colours.Cashmere here is either very expensive or cheap and poor quality.I do hope your cold clears soon, keep warm and rest, my only advice.

Yes, cashmere is expensive, and that's why I buy just one very carefully selected sweater or cardigan every year. Buy less, wear forever, that's my motto. Thank you for your kind words.

Well, I do live in a cold climate… when winter lasts from December (maybe even November) till April, you really, really need quite a few sweaters. Or that's what I tell myself, when I see yet another cute cardie that I just 'have to get'…

So sorry to hear about your cold. When I get a cold I drink lots and lots of hot tea. Also, I LOVE that sweater. So cute! I hope you feel better soon!

Love that second picture–the close-up with the beautiful pink sweater and blue tartan scarf. Could be in a magazine!

Thanks, Marea! It was a very quick photo shoot, it was so windy and cold (and I don't often call British weather cold…)

I like the first picture, I can see that the weather is not good for photography, but still I was beautiful like the look, I liked your proposal in blue tartan.kisses

Thank you so much. Well, weather is a problem most of the time when we plan photo shoots, both in Finland and in the U.K. I think I have already made messy, wind-swept hair my trademark…

Thank you, I'm getting better, but it sure took a long time.
