BREAKING NEWS: I BOUGHT A NEW PAIR OF JEANS!!!
Yes, this is me, sporting my brand new pair of boyfriend jeans. They’re slouchy, comfy, ever-so-slightly distressed, and I love them.
And yes, this is newsworthy. First, because I hardly ever buy a new pair of jeans (or trousers) and second, because I actually found a pair of jeans I could squeeze my big bum in. That happens once in a blue moon. Which probably explains why I hardly ever buy jeans (or trousers)…
Buying jeans is right up there with having a root canal as far as unpleasant experiences go, at least for me. I mean, there I am, in that tiny dressing room, with an armful of jeans (or trousers or any sort), none of which fit. It’s bound to have an effect on a girl’s self-esteem: I can’t even count the times I’ve left empty-handed and totally defeated, believing I must be some sort of a deformed mutant.
And then I always get angry and decide that there’s nothing wrong with me; it’s the jeans that are faulty. After all, most of them seem to be designed for people with no hips and legs twice as long as mine…
What usually happens is I can barely fit one leg in, and even then the damn jeans won’t go past my knees (and yes, I’ve tried bigger sizes…). And then I have to spend the next ten minutes trying to pull the said leg out, without destroying the jeans in the process. And even if I somehow manage to get both legs and my sizable behind into the damn contraption, the waistline could easily fit 3 of me…
So, whenever I find a pair of jeans (or trousers of any sort) that fit me, I usually buy them in every colour I can find and then wear them to bits.
And now you understand why this is newsworthy: I found a pair of jeans that fit me comfortably. OK, fine, I’m wearing a belt, so maybe the jeans could be just a little bit narrower at the waistline (but one size smaller would be way too tight around the thighs and hips), but you can’t have it all.

Well done! Finding the right jeans can be a loooong haul, and you made it. You look terrific and what a beautiful setting too. xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Finding the right jeans is nearly impossible, and so frustrating and time-consuming. But this is as good as it gets, I suppose: 'perfect' doesn't exist, so I'll take what I can get.
Congratulation you found it. Last week I ordered only one Plussize Jeans in my size and it fits! What a luck!Happy Monday, XO Tina
I know how that feels: it's so rare, and almost feels like a major achievement. Which is crazy, it's just jeans, after all. It should be easier, don't you think?
Amazing you found the perfect pair of jeans. I struggle a lot to get the best fit.-Vaishalihttp://www.vivaciouswish.com/2017/03/12/savannah/
Well, maybe not perfect… the waist could be a bit smaller still. But it's good enough, and as with most things in life, that will do.
Jeans that fit are very hard to find. Visiting from Style Nudge and I like what I read, so I will be back to read more. .
Oh yes, really hard. I wonder why? You would think it's good business to make jeans that actually fit a woman's body, right?
Love the cheerful color pops your scarf and coat brings to your simple blue denim outfit. Hope it gets warmer there soon (I wish the same for here). Welcome by Thursday and linkup, Tiina. =)
Thanks, Ada. Yes, warmer weather would be lovely…
Finding the right jeans can be such a frustrating process! I've had many demoralising changing room moments. I usually buy my jeans from Gap because they fit me well and aren't too expensive, but the sizing varies greatly depending on the style, and even the type of wash. I like the relaxed fit of boyfriend jeans, you look great in these. The blues with the pink scarf is lovely :-)Emma xxxwww.style-splash.com
Oh yes, frustrating and demoralising, for sure. And the sizing, that's just crazy! There's no logic whatsoever. I always take at least 3 sizes with me to try on and it still feels that it's down to chance.
Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. A belt is styling. So what?
Thanks for pointing that out. Styling, I mean. I sometimes wear a belt with a dress, and I like the way it looks. But with trousers, I'd rather not wear a belt. So, I usually wear a belt just to keep my jeans in place… I mean I need a belt to make up for the too wide waistline in most jeans and trousers, Otherwise I have to keep yanking my jeans up all the time. And mostly I find belts just a bit umcomfortable, especially in summer.
I feel your pain as I sometimes have the same problem! You've found some great jeans, and they look fab on you – well done. Jacquiwww.mummabstylish.com
Thanks, Jacqui. Oh yes, finding jeans is like finding a hidden treasure, just as difficult and likely.
Buying pants is difficult. Sometimes when I find a pair that fits well, I'll get it in a few colors. Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday.http://tresfly.blogspot.com
Oh, I do the same! Sometimes I even get two pairs of trousers, I mean the same style in the same colour…
