Winter Slump: Just Add Colour

smart casual over 40

OK, winter is going nowhere fast. It's useless to fight it, and dreaming of spring at this point is a total waste of time.

I've resigned to my fate, as you can see...

And yes, as far as the outfit is concerned, it's still the same old, same old... But in colour, this time. Isn't colour supposed to brighten your mood or something?

So, maybe we could see this as an experiment of sorts. You know, about whether a splash of colour affects your mood when it's cold and grim and it's snowing all the time...

Sure, I don't have  a lot of data, and the test sample (= yours truly) was quite small, but the preliminary findings seem quite conclusive: a splash of colour doesn't have any effect whatsoever on your mood if you're already fed up with winter...

But it does look nice against the winter white backdrop. I'll take that.

  1. Shame the brights didn't lighten your Winter mood , it looks great on you. True it does look so good against the snow.

  2. Yes, it does indeed make the picture lovely against the white of the trees. I say yay to colour.

    1. Thanks, Jacqui. It was a very grey day when we took these photos, the sun was hiding for days. Now it's bright and sunny. And freakishly cold...

  4. Color has the power to make us happy and change our moods, for sure. I love this look with all the shades of dark red. Totally chic and colorful for Winter. As far as snow, we haven't had any in two weeks (knock on wood) and our temps have gone quite up, we have felt the first touches of Spring. But our winters are long and strong so I am sure snow isn't over yet. I know Europe has been cold in the last week or so and it has snowed a lot.

Welcome by Thursdays and join my linkup pretty lady. Also, starting this Sunday I am running a monthly style linkup so welcome by. Have a great day! Ada =)
