40+ casual wear

10.15 pm

That's when these pictures were taken, 10.15 in the evening, just before sunset (this means we have almost 19 hours of daylight at the moment). I love these white summer nights when the sun barely sets (very late) and then starts rising again almost immediately (very early). Just perfect for late evening walks...

After a really busy couple of weeks things are quickly slowing down at work, and I'm beginning to look forward to a summer break. That's what life as a freelancer is like: ether there's so much work you barely have time to sleep or no work at all. And when things start slowing down, I find it difficult to concentrate, and my motivation goes AWOL. I mean, if you only work a couple of days a week, why bother at all... Yes, I'm so ready to have a little break from work, just a couple of weeks left...

Professor M, on the other hand, has been quite busy this week, jetting back and forth between Finland and the U.K. at such a rate that makes me think we should have a jet of our own. Or live at the airport...

And the weather... Let's see, this past week we've had some really hot days, and a few somewhat chilly days. So, typical Finnish summer weather, in other words.

Oh, and my birthday is this weekend... I will be 51. Of course, we will be celebrating it, somewhere, but I'll tell you about it later.

What have you been doing this week?

  1. Yeah, you should buy a private Jet! That you call flying elegance......or something! Lol. Is that picture taken in Finland? I am already curious about what you will be doing on your birthday!🙌

    1. Yes, the picture was taken in Finland. I think my readers may find it confusing when some pics are from Finland and others from the U.K., so I try to remember to add the country in 'labels'.

  2. Have a wonderful birthday! Hope your husband is getting flyer points for all that traveling! ;) I love these striped hoodie- especially the hint of neon yellow on the hood against the navy! So pretty! Enjoy your down time!

    1. Thanks, Carrie. Trust me, we have all the frequent flyer etc cards possible...

  3. Isn't it great when it is light out for so many hours? When we lived in Albert it also didn't get dark until 10:30-11 pm. Here, now it gets dark around 9:30. One can squeeze so much more into the day.

Happy birthday! I think you are the day before me.

    1. Yes, I love early summer because of the daylight. In a couple of weeks we'll only have about 3 hours of semi-darkness at night, won't even really need streetlights.

  4. Happy Birthday, Tiina! And you must be very North to have such long days. I'm gonna have to look at a map. I relate to your observations about work. My practice is often too busy so when it calms down, I relish the change and relax.

    1. Thanks, Ally!
Yes, we're pretty north. But it's still about a 1000 km to the Polar Circle (it's a big country, by European standards...)

  5. Happy, Happy Birthday! You look fabulous and I love that striped tunic. I do so appreciate the longer hours of daylight except when I am trying to get my children to bed at 7:30 and they are whining that it is still daytime!

  6. Great hoody tnic. Suits you!!! Have a lovely birthday Tiina. 💋💋💐🎂🍭🎈🎈🎉🎉🎀

  7. Love the hoodie, have a fab birthday!!!

    1. Thanks. Well, I'm a self-proclaimed stipe-a-holic...
